Rick Goodwin

Managing Director, Men & Healing: Psychotherapy for Men, CANADA

Rick Goodwin is a social worker, trainer, and Managing Director of Men & Healing, one of the few free-standing mental health clinics in the world for male survivors and their families (www.menandhealing.ca).  His training work on men’s health, trauma and recovery, and ending men’s violence has taken him across North America as well as Japan, South Korea, Cambodia, New Zealand, Guam, Great Britain, and India.  His writings include the Canadian guidebook Men & Healing: Theory, Research, and Practice in Working with Male Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse.(2009) and the Australian guidebook  Foundations: A Group Program Manual for Working with Men Sexually Abused in Childhood.(2017).  He also provides training and service provision for the American organization 1in6, Inc.  His work has been recognized by the Attorney General’s Award of Distinction, chosen as one of “150 Leading Canadians on Mental Health” and recently given the Meritorious Service Medal by the Governor General of Canada.  He lives in Ottawa, and can be reached at rick@menandhealing.ca.
